Would you like to become a SAC member?
SAC meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the media center. We need parents and community stakeholders who are committed to making New Smyrna Beach High School the best school it can be. Join us as we find innovative solutions to help our students graduate with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to be positive contributors to society.

The School Advisory Council (SAC) is a team of people representing the school's community, parents, teachers, students, and other interested community stakeholders who share a goal of increased student achievement. The purpose of a School Advisory Committee is to help prepare and evaluate the results of the school improvement plan.
A majority (51%) of the members of a School Advisory Council must be people not employed by the school district. Each advisory council should be composed of the principal and an appropriately balanced number of teachers, education support employees, students, parents, and other business and community citizens who are representative of the ethnic, racial, and economic community served by the school. Certain members are elected by their peers, while business and community members are appointed, and the principal automatically serves.
Being involved in SAC is a wonderful way to get involved with our school and to help make school wide decisions. Please feel free to join us in the media center at our next meeting. Follow the upcoming meeting dates link to see the meeting schedule for the year.
